Functional characterization of CENP-A interacting factors:
We have recently identified a number of proteins that are stable interaction partners of the centromeric histone H3 variant CENP-A. One of these proteins is a histone modifying enzyme that has not been studied in Drosophila so far. The aim of this study is to use Drosophila genetics and biochemistry to examine biological roles of this enzyme in the fly.
