Research Topic:
Using the androgen - regulated genes hAG2 and hAG3 as model genes the function of the androgen receptor as a transcription factor is investigated. Emphasis is on the identification of the regulatory elements in the gene promoters and on the involvement of accessory proteins (AR co-modulators) in the transcription complex. For that proteomics techniques are established in cooperation with the group of Lukas Huber for isolation and analysis of androgen receptor protein complexes (the "androsome").
